Open Health Informatics

Open Health Informatics is the title of a research programme, started in 2010 by Professor John Chelsom at the Centre for Health Informatics, City University, London.

Open Health Informatics combines four key elements which have the potential to bring a fresh approach to the way clinical information systems are delivered:

  • open source software
  • open standards
  • open systems interfaces
  • open development processes
